I’ll assess your confidence as well as motivation levels. We’ll address any items from previous meetings and/or email check in’s from earlier in the week. Most importantly we’ll discuss what went well since our last live session. The overall purpose of our live sessions are to identify your strengths, what works for you, and what we can do to assure that it continues to work. Over the course of the program we’ll be strategically implementing skills that “work” into your overall action plan.

As you progress through the program you’ll be exposed to different skills and practices to (you’ll always have options to choose from!) to implement over the ensuing weeks. Your eating plan will ultimately play to your strengths support your goals, and fit in with your lifestyle. We’ll end determining what actions to take over the next 1-2 weeks before the next live session.

There is no limit to how long the program lasts, it is personalized, so length depends on where your starting from and what you want to accomplish. To achieve lasting results, 6-12 months is typical. The initial commitment is six months because, to make lasting changes, to begin to see tangible results, and for the coaching relationship to grow and be effective, one must commit for at least that long. I want you to succeed, in order to do that, you must commit!

The program is designed to help you achieve your nutrition and health related goals. It’s not a one size fits all type of program but highly personalized. I will work with you to tailor it to your goals.

There is no specific diet plan, as there is no single, specific diet that works well for everyone. I promote eating patterns that include a variety of foods (preferably whole), with little restriction (unless necessary for medical/health reasons).

I am certified as an Exercise Physiologist, as well as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Most recently I’ve added the Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification. I’ve been coaching and training people for 20 years and have had a lot of success helping people lose weight, improve their health, as well as their physical performance. I have earned a Ph.D. in Kinesiology, part of which included advanced study in Nutrition, and I have also been teaching College Nutrition for several years. You can see my online profile here.

Please note, I am NOT a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, hence I will not be prescribing specific foods for you to eat, nor will I use food to treat any medical condition.

Certainly. I have had (and still have) clients who were in the midst of preparing for an athletic event, and/or season who wanted to make sure they had the knowledge and guidance to fuel, prepare, and recover properly, so they can maximize their performance. Even so, athletes, just like anyone else, are just as interested, if not more, in improving and preserving their health. Eating habits are a large part of that.

Additionally, I am especially interested in folks who were once competitive athletes (say in high school or college) and after a long time, are trying to get back to where they can compete again. Why you ask? Because, I’ve been there and I know I can help you get back! (After 27 years away from baseball, I have now been playing the past six years in a competitive adult league, and it's one of the best things I’ve done.)
